Pleasant Ridge (1 Jun 1916)

School meeting at the school house Monday evening, June 5th. Let everyone attend.

Clifford Blackman went to Marshfield Tuesday afternoon with some of the high school boys.

Miss Nelson will close school Saturday with a picnic, if the weather permits.

Mrs. Kaulman arrived Saturday from North Dakota to see her son at Joe Brown’s. He is reported on the gain.

Kenneth Randall spent Saturday night and Sunday with Clifford Blackman.

Nellie and Genevieve Swann spent Saturday night and Sunday in Neillsville at Grandpa Swann’s.

Nina Selves spent Saturday and Sunday with her cousin, Edna Snyder, in Neillsville.

Florence Huckstead spent Saturday night with Nina Counsell.

Mrs. Susan Counsell spent Sunday with her niece, Mrs. Ed. Huckstead.

Nearly everyone attended the Baccalaureate service Sunday night.

Mrs. H.O. Huckstead and Mrs. Blackman and two or three others called on Mrs. Geo. Swann last Wednesday evening.

Kaspar Marty and family spent Sunday with relatives near Day.

Wm. West and family spent Sunday at Richard Selves’.

Miss Elsie Waterpool is home from Colby. Her father is some better.

Joe Counsell and family were at Granton Saturday afternoon.

Miss Hammond, one of the high school teachers, spent Monday night with Mary Slocomb.

Mr. and Mrs. Jim Baker of Levis spent Sunday at Mrs. Tom Counsell’s.

Joe Brown lost a fine two-year-old colt by lightning last week, and Mr. Altemus a cow.

Donald Hughes and grandmother spent last Wednesday at Mrs. Blackman’s.

Geo. Randall worked at O.E. Counsell’s last week.

O.E. Counsell had a shingling bee last Monday. They shingled his barn as the wind had taken the roof off.

Will Duge has re-shingled his barn.
