Alice M. Wolf, 91, of Neillsville joined our Heavenly Father Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield surrounded by family.

Alice Marie Johnson was born July 23, 1922, in Carney, MI, the daughter of Gustaf Adolph and Edith (Frederickson) Johnson. She attended and graduated from Stephenson High School in Carney. Alice moved to Chicago where she worked as a nanny and also at a hospital in the newborn ward. She was united in marriage to Gerald Wolf. Alice went to work for Brudno Art Supplies. About this time, they bought a farm north of Neillsville and spent their summers there. In 1969, they decided to move to Wisconsin permanently. Alice got a job with the Singer Sewing Company in Marshfield and then the First National Bank in Neillsville where she worked for 25 years.

Alice loved puzzles of all kinds, watching old movies and crocheting. She served as the treasurer of the Red Cross Blood Mobile and was a member of the Young at Heart Club, Clark County Homemakers and Living Hope Evangelical Free Church.

She is survived by four children, Denise (Lonnie) DeMoe of Garland, TX, Jackie (Philip) Weichelt of Granton, Pam (Phil) Ogan of Dixon, IL, and Gerry Wolf of Desert Center, CA; six grandchildren, Jessup (Liana) Nicole, Jennifer (Ben), Taylor, Kimberly (Greg) and Jason (Sunshine); and two great-granddaughters, Lluvy Alice and Novalee Rae. Alice is further survived by a brother, Paul (Jeanne) Johnson of Sycamore, IL; a brother-in-law, Len Sponberg of Fort Atkinson; and many nieces and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Ray Johnson; and a sister, Lois Sponberg.

Funeral services for Alice were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church. Pastor Steven Wentz officiated. Music was provided by Kathy Meshnick, pianist. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church and also Saturday morning one hour prior to the service. Interment was in Dells Dam Cemetery in the Town of Levis.
