Rose was born on September 27, 1916 in the Town of Deer Creek to the late Ren and Josephine (Vogt) Riegert. She attended Pleasant Valley School and graduated in 1934 from Medford High School. She was employed in Milwaukee in the 1930s. She later worked at the Suits Drug Store and the Medford Co-op in Medford. She also kept books for the family farm, the Riegert Bros. mink ranch and Dairy Consultants.

Rose enjoyed playing cards and was especially good at cribbage. She gardened, put up her own produce and baked the "old country" recipes. Rose set puzzles, did crossword puzzles, latch hooked rugs and knit until just before her death. She cared for family members and offered hospitality to whoever stopped in. Her cookie jar was always ready for company.

Rose is survived by her sister-in-law, Norma Riegert; two nephews, Michael Riegert and Mark (Pam Motte) Riegert of Medford; two nieces, Sharon (Joe) Cypher of Medford and Judy (Steve) Hasenhorl of Rapid City, SD; two great-nieces, Megan (Adam) Laufenberg and Abbie Hasenhorl; two great-nephews, Jason (Amy) Cypher and Don (Heather) Cypher; one great-great-nephew, Alex Cypher; and one great-great-niece, Emily Cypher.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Matilda Mueller, and her brothers, Herb and Ed Riegert.
