Abel, Marcella (26 JUN 1925– 02 APR 1997)

Marcella Eldora Abel, 71, Greenwood, died Wednesday, April 2, 1997, at Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville.  Funeral services were held at 1p.m. at Friday, April 4, 1997, at Immanuel United Church of Christ, Greenwood.  Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated.  Burial was in the Greenwood City Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Dale Horn, Elmer Humke, James Hannan, Peter Hannan, Lloyd Meissner and Harry Meinhardt.

Marcella Eldora Abel was born on June 26, 1925, in the town of Warner, to Gustav and Mary (nee Wehrman) Abel.  She received her education at Decker Country School.  She then did domestic work in the Greenwood area.  She devoted much of her life to taking care of her parents and sister, and working on the family farm.  She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Greenwood; the Busy Bee’s and also sang in the church choir in her younger years.

Survivors in clued two sisters, Elsie Abel, Greenwood; and Selma (Norman) Geisler, Owen; and three nieces, Caroline Hannan, Loyal; Betty Bushnell, Plymouth; and Evelyn Geisler, Eau Claire.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Rinka Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
