Teachers'
Institute in this city closed this week.
John Shanks went to Chicago with
a load of sheep and load of cattle.
J.W. Gorman, with N.C. Foster and
others, came over from Fairchild to look over the proposed route for the
extension of the Fairchild & Northwestern railroad, the clearing for which was
under way, and a crew of nearly forty men were on the ground.

Cummings received a telegram announcing the death of her brother, Henry Fitch,
at Park Rapids, Minn.
The Riplinger & Co.s sawmill at Loyal burned to the
ground. Estimated loss is $3,000.
