The boys over at Globe must be real live wires, judging from an item in Globe correspondence in regard to coasting. We can go them one better, for while Dale Fulwiler was coasting the other day, he ran into a barbed wire fence, but such a little thing as a barbed wire fence did not hinder Dale in the least, as he shot through in under lie, pulled off the two bottom wires for at least twenty rods, without checking the speed at all.

Harry Bowman got hit in the eye by a rope so has to wear a bandage over it for a few days.

A.W. Hales, accompanied by E.R. Wonser and H.E. Williams of Granton, were business callers at Wausau last week.

The Nightingale Club was entertained very pleasantly by Miss Ella Hales at her home last Wednesday.

Emil Schoenfeld, proprietor of the York Center cheese factory, laid in a supply of ice last Saturday.

Mrs. Emma Bolton received news last week from her daughter, Eva, who is sick at Greenville, Ill., that her condition was dangerous and for her to come at once. She left immediately and later reports from there are that her daughter was past danger.

A.C. Vande Berg was sick last week with an attack of appendicitis.

Forest Rowe and wife spent Sunday at Neillsville.

While unloading ice at the cheese factory last Saturday, a large cake fell on Omer Deets’ foot, so he had to limp around for a day or two.

Mr. and Mrs. G. Vande Berg of Baldwin and Miss Henrietta Gluen of Alto visited here the past week.

Lincoln’s Day will be observed in the M.E. Church next Sunday. Rev. W.P. Powell has arranged a program for it. On Monday night he will give a lecture on Lincoln’s life, illustrated with magic lantern. An offering to cover expenses will be taken.
