The class of 1911 finished their
school course last week. The class consists of Emil Drummond, English course,
and Ben Zaffke, Helen Davis, Clella Andrews, Mabel Rossman, Ida Hamre, Fern
Sloniker, Dora Horn and Harry Palms, German course.
The Junior-Senior
reception was held at the Masters home May 24th.
Mr. Wm. Kittle of
Madison was secured to speak at the opera house last Thursday, when the class
day program was given. Mr. Kittle gave hsi powerful address on "The Demands of
Citizenship." His expose of the clutch the money power has on the county is
startling and sounds pessimistic, but Mr. Kittle is really an optimist and
believes in the final triumph of the people's cause. The address was fine and
was much enjoyed by the large audience.
F.W. Shrimpton of the board of
education addressed the class briefly and presented diplomas.
The class
play, "Untangling Tony," was given at the opera house Friday evening. The play
was greeted by a full house and was enjoyed by all present. The proceeds were
over ninety dollars.
