Herdrich, Mr./Mrs. Reno (40th – 16 MAY 1965)

The 40th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Reno Herdrich was observed Sunday, May 16, with open house at Trinity Lutheran Parish Hall from 2 to 5 p.m.  The tables were beautifully decorated with spring flowers.  Approximately 125 relatives and friends attended, coming from Marshfield, Neillsville, Unity, Greenwood, Sheboygan, Sheboygan Falls, Bloomer, Spencer, Abbotsford, Eau Claire, Granton, Wausau, as well as from Loyal and the surrounding area.

The former Miss Elsie Luchterhand, daughter of Frank Luchterhand, Neillsville and the late Mrs. Luchterhand, and Reno Herdrich, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Herdrich were united in marriage at the home of the bride’s parents, May 14, 1925 at 8 p.m., the Rev. C. F. Pohlman performing the ceremony.  Attendants at the original service were Mrs. Edward (Lizzie) Greeler, Neillsville, sister of the bride, who was present for the occasion, Sunday, and Herbert Herdrich, Flint, Michigan, brother of the groom.  Herbert was unable to be present on Sunday, but was a visitor at the Reno Herdrich home during the previous week.

Mr. and Mrs. Herdrich spent their entire married life, with the exception of the last 6 years, on a farm four miles north of Loyal.  They presently have a home 2 ½ miles north of Loyal.  Mr. Herdrich is employed at E-Z Kamper and Hrs. Herdrich is working part time at Skogmos Store, both in Loyal.

Mr. and Mrs. Herdrich have 5 children, Mrs. Harold (Norma) Dahl, Loyal; Mrs. Leonard (Margaret) Kollmansberger, Loyal; Harold, Davis, California, Robert, Eau Claire, and Mrs. Richard (Veryl) Holmes, Redding, California.  Harold and Veryl were unable to attend the observance.  There are 10 grandchildren, 7 of whom were present.

Festivities of the day included a noon dinner at the Star Lodge for the family and Mr. and Mrs. Greeler.  A miniature wedding cake, decorated in ruby, the color for the 40th anniversary was served.  The guests departed wishing the anniversary couple many more years of wedded life.
