Schwarze, Ella Helena (19 June 1899 - 27 March 1970)

Mrs. Alfred (Ella) Schwarze, 70, lifelong resident of Greenwood, died Friday in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted March 21.

Mrs. Schwarze, the former Ella Helena Wessel, daughter of Adolph and Anna (Auerbach) Wessel, was born June 19, 1899, in the Town of Longwood. She was married in that town May 14, 1919, to Alfred John Schwarze. They lived on a farm northwest of Greenwood until 1948, when they retired from farming and moved into the city. Mr. Schwarze died January 19, 1964. Mrs. Schwarze was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ.

She is survived by a son, Elroy Schwarze of Arpin; a daughter, Mrs. Irwin (Irma) Kessler of Waukesha; five grandchildren; two brothers, Albert Wessel and Adolph Wessel, both of Greenwood; and a sister, Mrs. Lydia Tieman of Greenwood.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Zion United Church. The Rev. David Logue officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Alfred (Ella) Schwarze were held last week Monday from the Zion United Church of Christ. The Rev. David Logue officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Arnold Schwarze, Theodore Abel, Donald Tieman, Allan Wessel, Walter Schwarze and Elmer Schwarze. Gary Schultz sang, “How Great Thou Art” and “Beyond the Sunset” accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Walter Schwarze.
