Funeral services for Mrs. Frank Van Slett, 80, Colby, were held Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic church.  The Rev. John Pinion officiated and burial was made in the parish cemetery.  The body lay in state from Saturday until Monday at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.  A Christian Mothers’ rosary was said Saturday, and a general rosary was said on Sunday.

Mrs. Van Slett died Friday evening, Feb. 19, at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield.

The former Marie Allain was born Sept. 1, 1884, in Fond du Lac.  Her marriage to Frank Van Slett took place in 1907 in Colby.  After living for several years at Loyal, the couple moved to a farm near Milan and later to a farm near Unity.  They lived in Colby for the past few years.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Van Slett is survived by seven sons, Elmo of Wausau, Francis, Arthur, Joseph, Russel, Charles and Orville, all of Milwaukee; three daughters, Mrs. George (Aurelia) Blanchard, Mrs. Edward (Marie) Allman and Mrs. Russell (Bernice) Meyer, all of Colby; two brothers, Charles Allain, Fond du Lac, and Theodore Allain, Richland Center; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Schroeder, Tomahawk, Mrs. Ruth Baudre, Fond du Lac, and Mrs. Stella Folts, Marshfield; 39 grand children and 12 great grand children. 

She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
