Green, Mr, and Mrs. Emrol (26 July 1964

Mr. and Mrs. Emrol Green of Spencer celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary July 26.

Their day was started by attending services at the Spencer Methodist Church followed by a dinner for the relatives at the home of their son Dever Green at Loyal.

Open house was held at the Municipal Hall in Spencer from 2 to 5 p.m. The hall was decorated in a gold and white color scheme with a golden bouquet of flowers centered on the family table. The bouquet was a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Mateika of Rockford, Illinois. Mrs. Mateika was a classmate of the Green’s daughter, Mary. The anniversary cake was also in the gold and white scheme, it was baked by a good friend, Mrs. Arthur Hanson of Spencer, a friend Mrs. Edythe Shortell of Vesper cut and served the cake. The Women’s Society of the Methodist Church served a very nice lunch.

A program was opened with a prayer by Rev. Otis Green and followed with selections by Mrs. Lorrin Nall and Kathy of Spencer. Mrs. Lloyd Hakes, Stanley; Mrs. Lloyd Collisen, Loyal; Mrs. Norman Monroe, Beloit; Mrs. Dana Monroe, Hancock; Mrs. Edward Prohopinski and Judy, Spencer and Iola Sinette of Loyal.

Those attending the celebration were the couples three children and grandchildren Dever Green, Loyal; Iola Sinette, Loyal and Mrs. Edward Prohopinski of Spencer. Other relation attending were Mr. Green’s brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Otis Green of Mineral, Virginia; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Green and family of Boyd; a sister, Mr. and Mrs. Merle Underwood of Omaha, Nebraska; a niece, Mrs. Ross Janes, Omaha; a xixter of Mrs. Green, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Berseth of Stanley/

Other friends and relatives from away attending the event were from Loyal, Thorp, Boyd, Hancock, Westboro, Vesper, Arpin, Chili, Chippewa Falls, Beloit, Greenwood, Wautoma, Holcombe, Nekoosa, Dorchester, Oskosh, Milladore, Owen, Marshfield and New Rockford, North Dakota.
