Gottschalk, Karen Marie (Marriage - 15 November 1969)

The Trinity Lutheran Church in Unity was the setting for the marriage of Miss Karen Marie Gottschalk, daughter of Harvey and Lorraine Gottschalk of Rt. 1 Unity, to Lionel Ernest Schweiger, son of John and Evelyn Schweiger of Rt. 2 Loyal. The double-ring candlelight ceremony was performed by the Rev. Robert Sutherland, at 7 p.m., November 15.

The bride’s floor-length, Empire-style gown of peau de soie and Chantilly lace, and featured an over-skirt ending in a chapel-length train. Her veil of English illusion fell from a forward headpiece of peau de soie trimmed with seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses.

Maid-of-honor, Miss Ellen Strigel of Auburndale, wore a floor-length gown of avocado georgette over taffeta, with satin trim. Her matching veil was attached to a forward rose floral headpiece. Gold and brown chrysanthemums formed her bouquet.

Dean Schweiger of Rt. 2 Loyal, served as bestman. Ushers were Jerry Miller and Donnie Radue, and Mike Kilty was the acolyte.

A buffet luncheon was served to about 150 guests at a wedding reception held in Unity.
