Peterson, Danny R. (30 MAY 1962 - 13 JUN 2013)

Danny R. Peterson, 51, Medford, died on Thursday, June 13 at his home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22 at 2 p.m. at the old Catawba Middle School in Catawba, and a reflection of memories time from 2 to 4 p.m. at Waun-A-Bowl in Waunakee. Pastor John Morrow will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the school on Saturday from 12 p.m. until the time of service.

Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

Danny Peterson was born on May 30, 1962 in Madison to the late Darvin E. and Sharon M. (Lange) Peterson. He attended Waunakee Elementary School and was a 1980 graduate of Waunakee High School. He worked construction doing drywall in the Waunakee area until October 1997 when he became handicapped due to a hunting accident. In 2006 he moved to Medford where he worked at Wal-mart and Medford Motors.

He was a member of United Carpenters Union, United Federation of Disabled Archers and Rock Creek Outdoor Adventures. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending and watching sporting events. He was a recent participant in the World's Largest Disable Hunt in Willard.

Survivors include his significant other, Patricia "Patty" Zegers and her daughter, Tanita Zegers, both of Medford; step-mother, Yvonne Peterson of Pardeeville; special step-children, Justin "Juice" and Ashley Scholz, both of Waunakee; a sister, Darlene (Michael) McGuire of Dellwood; a brother, Dale Peterson of Catawba; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Peterson in 2012; sister-in-law, Anita Peterson in 2001; and brother-in-law, Harold Shaw in 1998.
