Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Kay Koerth and Bruce E. Thayer, both of Denver, Colo., on April 4.  Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Koerth of Atlantic, Ia., and Mr. and Mrs. Graham Thayer of Unity.

Baskets of white gladioli and blue mums adorned the alter at the First Baptist church at Fredericksburg, Ia., where the ceremony took place in a candle light service at 7:30 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Pasko officiating.  Miss Joyce Lehmen was organist and accompanist for Miss Annette Koerth who sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and also “Our Wedding Prayer”.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a long sleeved white satin gown embroidered with pearls and a fingertip veil.  She carried a white Bible topped with an orchid.

Miss Joyce Huber of Sioux Falls, S. Dak., a college friend, was the maid of honor, and Miss Lucinda Koerth of Atlantic, Ia., a sister of the bride, was the bridesmaid.

They wore identically styled ballerina length dresses of frost blue satin and carried bouquets of blue and white carnations.

Kathy Koehler, cousin of the groom, and Bill Martin, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl and ring bearer, respectively.

Roger Mell of Denver served as best man and Kurt Koerth of Ames, Ia., was groomsman.

Robert Koerth, Darrell Marf, Marvin Shawner and Gerry Barker performed the ushering duties.

The mothers of the bridal couple wore white accessories with blue dresses accented by yellow rose corsages.

Guests at the wedding were from Wisconsin, South Dakota, Colorado, Indiana, Arkansas, Minnesota and Michigan.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Thayer went on a honeymoon trip through Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota, and are now at home at 132 Macan St., Apt. No. 9, Aurora, Colo.  The groom, a graduate of the Colby high school, is stationed at Lowry Air Force Base, Denver, Colo.  His bride is a graduate of the Fredericksburg, Ia., high school and attended Sioux Falls college.  She was employed at Elliott-Schmidt Electric Supply Co. at Denver.
