Washburn (16 October 1969)

Ralph Short was taken by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Neillsville last Tuesday. On Friday he was taken to the hospital at Marshfield for treatment and tests. Judy Reinart drove them to Marshfield. We wish Ralph a speedy recovery. Mrs. Short is staying with her husband.

Bruce Spiegel is building a milk house, getting ready for a bulk tank.

Mr. and Mrs. Irving Stevens, Mrs. Frank Short, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Trachte, Mrs. Wanda Pretsch, Bob Mortenson and Dave Krutsch attended the Joe Holub funeral in Alma Center Saturday.

Erwin Lutz of Milwaukee spent the weekend helping his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andreas Lutz, remodel their kitchen.

Mr. and Mrs. Don Stewart and son, Jeff, of Verona visited her father, Ralph Short, in Marshfield Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart entertained at supper Friday night Mrs. Ethel Pedder of Los Angeles, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Wilke of El Mont, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Dahnert of Neillsville. Mrs. Pedder and Mrs. Wilke are aunts of Mrs. Reinart.

Mrs. Elmer Kapfer returned home Saturday from the hospital in Marshfield where she underwent surgery. She had been hospitalized four weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Huth spent last week in Milwaukee visiting his mother.

Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Vandeberg and sons were dinner guests Sunday at the Oliver Williams home to help Mr. Williams celebrate his birthday which was Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Reinart and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reinart visited Ralph Short at the hospital in Marshfield Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Kegley of Milwaukee were overnight visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Short the first of the week. Mr. Kegley is a nephew of Mrs. Short.

Mr. and Mrs. Clem Steffens, Ardis Backhaus and Walter Krueger were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Williams Monday.

The Cannonville Ladies Aid meeting which was to have been held today (Thursday) has been postponed.
