Luzinski, Louis Leon (11 June 1917 - 27 May 2013)

Louis L. Luzinski, age 95, of Thorp, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013, at Oakbrook Health & Rehab in Thorp. Funeral services were held on Friday, May 31, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church in Lublin with Rev. Marion Talaga officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery. Visitation was held on Thursday, May 30, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Thorp Funeral Home. Visitation was also held on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Louis Leon Luzinski was born on June 11, 1917, in rural Lublin, WI to Teofil and Ella (Kostick) Luzinski. He was raised on the family farm and received his education at area schools. He was united in marriage to Mary Romanowski on November 8. 1941. He farmed all his life, but also managed to have several side jobs. He was a licensed cheesemaker, he hauled milk to Blue Moon Cheese Factory, he hauled livestock to market, and worked at the Crane Feed Mill and at Will’s Implement.

In his spare time, Louis enjoyed ice fishing, playing cards, going deer hunting, and listening to Polka music. He was a member of St. Mary’s Polish National Catholic Church, where he served as Parish Council President and committee Member for many years.

Louis is survived by one daughter, Delores Lewan (friend Roland Bingham) of Withee; one son, Louis Luzinski (friend Lynn Brunett) of Thorp; one grandson, Loren (Pam) Luzinski; one granddaughter, Lori Ann (Jeff) McDonald; five great-grandchildren: Tyler, Carter, and Jaycie Luzinski, and Alexi and Bailey Mc Donald; one step-granddaughter, Jennifer (Matt) Rogus; and one step-great-granddaughter, Amelia Rogus. He is further survived by his brother, Chester Luzinski of Lublin; his very special friend, Rose Mary Pszeniczny of Thorp; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Louis was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary, in 2004; his daughter, Louise Robertson; two brothers: Steve Luzinski and mike Luzinski; and one sister Ann Krzyzanski.
