Weller, Louis (14 AUG 1871 - 8 NOV 1964)

Funeral services for Louis Weller were held Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Zion Lutheran Church, Colby. The Rev. Harold Wood worth officiated, and burial was made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

The 93 year old Colby resident died Sunday night at the Havenet Nursing Home in Owen. The body lay in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby.

Louis Weller was born in Germany on Aug. 14, 1871, coming to the United States as a young boy. He and his parents lived in Sheboygan for a short time before settling on a farm in the town of Hull (Marathon Co., Wis.).

In 1905 he married the former Doretta Mueller. As a young man he operated the Hull Cheese Factory, after which he farmed in the town of Hull until his retirement in the 1930's, when the Wellers moved to Colby. Mrs. Weller died in 1957. Mr. Weller was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Colby.

Survivors include one adopted son, Raymond Weller of Westfield, and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
