The United Church of Christ at Owen was the setting for the marriage ceremony of Miss Judith Jean Kivikko and Brian Lee Schouten on Saturday, Sept. 12, 1964, at 2 p.m. Rev. Robert Goessling officiated, and Miss Bunee Kraut sang "I'll Walk with God" and "O Perfect Love."

Candelabra and bouquets of gold and bronze mums decorated the church altar, as the bride, escorted by her father, came down the aisle wearing a floor length gown featuring a jewel trimmed neckline and bodice of Chantilly lace, an empire waist accenting the princes style skirt of silk organza over taffeta and a lace train completing the back. Her illusion veil was held by an organza rose with pearl trim and she carried a cascade bouquet of white and bronze Fuji mums and ivy.

The maid of honor, Miss Sharon Hewitt, Madison, and the bridesmaids, Miss Bettie Butek, Madison, and Miss Jean Schouten, Waupun, wore floor length gold acetate formals fashioned of shantung with an oval neckline, fitted bodice and fly away panels at the back with bow trim. Each had a matching bow headpiece with a face veil and carried cascade bouquets of bronze and gold chrysanthemums.

Jerry Veenhuis of Waupun, served as the best man, and Joe Koopmans of Randolph and Alton Asmus of Waupun were groomsmen. Robert Bakke, Curtiss, and Ralph Schregardus, Grand Rapids, Mich., were the ushers.

A reception was held at the church parlors following the ceremony.

The new Mrs. Schouten is a 1961 graduate of Owen-Withee High School and of the Madison Business College, and has been employed by Ray-O-Vac Co., Madison.

The groom is a 1960 graduate of Waupun High School and is employed at the Schouten mink ranch near Waupun.

Guests at the wedding came from DeKalb, Ill., What Cheer, Ia., Grand Rapids, Mich., and Waupun, Madison, Green Bay and Wis. Rapids, and the local area.
