Gehrt, Harry Charles (4 August 1888 - 8 June 1959)

Funeral services will be conducted this (Thursday) afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home at 3 p.m. for Harry C. Gehrt, 70, of Neillsville, who died Monday. He had been in poor health for several years. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey, pastor of the United Church of Christ, will officiate and burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Gehrt was born August 4, 1888, in Waukesha, son of the late Henry and Minnie (Luck) Gehrt. He came to Clark County at the age of two and as a young man assisted with the farm work at home. He later purchased a farm of his own where he resided until five years ago, when he was forced to retire due to poor health. He had resided at Neillsville since that time. His marriage to the former Marie Baumel took place September 30, 1914, in Neillsville.

He is survived by his wife and three children: Everett of Loyal, Rt. 2, Harland of Granton, Rt. 2, and Walter of Rudolph. Other survivors include the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Harriet Schruth and Mrs. Clara Planteen, Sacramento, Calif., Miss Amanda Gehrt, Milwaukee, Edward and William Gehrt, both of Neillsville. Five grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services were held Thursday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Harry Charles Gehrt, 70. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Wilfred B. Galstad, accompanied by Kathleen Galstad, sang, “No Night There” and “The Lord’s Prayer”.

Pallbearers were: William Jake, Kr., Max Lukas, Ed Stelloh, William Milbreit, Irving Vine, and Leo Pflughoeft.

People from away here for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Everett Gehrt, Loyal, Mr. and Mrs. Harland Gehrt, Granton, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gehrt, Rudolph, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baumel, Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Vine, Granton, and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Gehrt, Rib Lake.
