Carollo, Joseph (8 APR 1904 - 23 JUL 1964)

Funeral services were held Monday, July 27 at 11 a.m. at Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, for Joseph Carollo, 60, Chicago, a former area resident. The Rev. John B. Pinion officiated. Pallbearers were Fred Mancini, Bert Ferraro, Frank DeBarbara, Louis Trevison, Lawrence Mueller and Noel Schelling. Interment was made in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Joseph Carollo passed away on Thursday, July 23, 1964, at his home in Chicago, a heart attack being the cause of death.

He was born April 8, 1904 at Vicenza, Italy, and came to this country with his parents at an early age. The family lived near Gad and then moved to Chicago, where Mr. Carollo received his education. He was married to the former Helen Wilde of Colby at Abbotsford, March 30, 1929. He worked in Chicago for a number of years and in this area 15 years, during which time they operated the Dugout Bar in Colby. They spent seven years at Birchwood, after which they returned to Chicago.

Surviving him, besides his wife, are four sisters, Mrs. Bert (Cathryn) Ferraro, Chicago, Mrs. Louis (Anna) Trevison and Mrs. Frank (Margaret DeBarbara, both of Lockport, Ill., and Mrs. Fred (Theresa) Mancini, Joliet, Ill., and one brother, John Carollo, La Vegas, Nev.

Two sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

Attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. John Carollo, Las Vegas, Nev., Mr. and Mrs. Bert Ferraro, Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mancini, Joliet, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Louis Trevison and Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeBarbara, Lockport, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Edward Pius, Lockport, Ill., Mrs. Dominga DeToffol, Joliet, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wilde, Birchwood, Mrs. Mabel Pickett and Arnie Benz, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wilde and Danny, Jackie and Kevin, all of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Jensen, Glidden, Mr. and Mrs. Al Bauer, Medford, Mr. and Mrs. John Fecker, Abbotsford, Mrs. Kathleen Hutchins, Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Al Mueller, Abbotsford, and many friends from this area.
