Nirva, Gail Marie (Marriage - 28 June 1969)

Miss Gail Marie Nirva, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Nirva of Withee, and Gary M. Kind, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Kind of Greenwood, were married June 28 at 2:30 p.m. in the Immanuel United Church of Christ at Greenwood. The Rev. David Logue officiated at a double-ring ceremony before the 200 guests.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor-length A-line gown of candlelight silk peau de soie. It featured a scoop neckline and short, lace sleeves. A cathedral-length train was secured to a bow in the back, and a veil of illusion net, also cathedral length, was secured to a matched headpiece. She carried a cascade of phoelanopies orchids entwined with ivy.

The bride’s attendants were Adele Dicks of Milwaukee, Peggy Hium of Greenwood and Amber Nirva of Withee. Their gowns were of candy mint green ribbed ottomen with scoop necklines, and featured a floating panel secured to a bow in back. They wore matched headpieces with seed pearls. They each carried a pink fugi and chrysanthemum.

Bruce Miller of Marshfield was bestman. Groomsmen were Dale Bauer of Colby and Steve Kind of Greenwood. Terry Nirva of Withee and Scott Dicks of Milwaukee served as ushers.

Mrs. Margaret Schwarze provided nuptial music, and Gary Schultz sang, “O Perfect Love” and “The Wedding Prayer.”

A dinner was served in the church parlor and a reception held a t the legion Hall, with 200 guests attending.

After a trip into northern Wisconsin, the couple will reside at 511 N. Vine St. Marshfield.

Mrs. Kind is a 1968 graduate of Owen-Withee High School and the Shirlee’s Institute of hair design. She is employed at the Greenwood Beauty Shop. Mr. Kind graduated from Greenwood High School in 1967 and is employed by a Marshfield firm.
