Mrs. S. Bombard Laid To Rest

Funeral Services for Mrs. Sarah Bombard, who passed away Wednesday, May 11th at the home of her son-in-law & daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Phillips, Spencer were held Saturday, May 14th at 2 p. m. at the Methodist Church. Rev. R. J. Fleming conducted the services and burial was in the West Spencer cemetery.

During the services the Mesdames Russell Andrews and A. J. McIlhattan sang two beautiful duets, “Rock of Ages” and “evening Prayer.”

The Pallbearers were Messers Martin Engel, Frank Corbett, Ed. Meacham, Al Martin, Emil Buse and Ira Meacham. Those carrying flowers were Mesdames H. Prehn, Mary Hoftiezer, Martin Engel, F. A. Corbett, Emil Buse, and W. G. Holterman.

Out-of-town relatives here were a daughter, Mrs. Wm. Nelson, Long Beach, Calif.; a nephew and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Nelson and two daughters of South Dakota; Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Corbett of Bancroft; and many other friends from surrounding communities.

The people of Spencer and community express deep sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Phillips and family who lost both their mothers within a few days of each other, Mrs. Alfred Phillips passing away about an hour after the funeral of Mrs. Bombard. Mrs. Phillips mother. This is indeed a great grief and calls for fortitude and a strong belief in a Supreme Being.
