N. Hart and wife received word Monday of the birth of a son at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.S. Perry in Melrose, which occurred that morning.

Carl Bramer was home from his work in the furniture factory a Eau Claire. Carl is on the night shift now and gets $1.85 which he says is “pretty good for kid.”

Rev. G.B. Haskell and daughter Miss Viva went to Stevens Point last Friday noon, where Miss Haskell took part in the district declamatory contest. They returned Saturday noon.

The Juniors have their class play nearly in readiness for presentation. The date has not been set, but it will be sometime during the last week of the term. This class play will be the only closing exercises the high school will have this year. The other departments of the school are arranging for exercises to be held, of which more definite announcement will be made later.

Geo King is making a number of good improvements to his residence.

Herman Schulz of Fairchild, was here on business connected with the slot machines Thursday. Winson Bros. have one of their camps built between here and Fairchild and expect to have their steam shovel at work this week.
