Goettsch, Esther Ann (4 October 1896 - 17 March 1969)

Mrs. Henry Goettsch, 72, of Greenwood, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack Sunday at the hospital in Marshfield, where she was admitted, March 17.

Esther Ann Cronin, daughter of Patrick and Anna (Hillman) Cronin was born October 4, 1896, in Wabasha, Minn. She was married November 26, 1932, at South Bend, Ind., to Henry Goettsch. He died January 3, 1968.

Mrs. Goettsch received her early education in the Greenwood schools. She took nurse’s training at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Marshfield, and at Wauwatosa and took post graduate work at Marquette University-Milwaukee. After their marriage the Goettschs lived in Detroit, Mich., until coming to the Greenwood area in 1933. They farmed northwest of here until 1957, when they retired and moved into the city.

Survivors are two brothers, Floyd Cronin of Rockford, Ill., and James Cronin of Merrill; and four sisters, Mrs. Owen (Margaret) Williams of Glendive, Mont., and Mrs. Gertrude McCann, Mrs. Phillip (Anna) Vollrath and Mrs. martin (Dolly) Zickert, all of Greenwood.

Funeral services were scheduled for Wednesday afternoon from the Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. Leroy Urman, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church was to officiate. Mrs. Goettsch was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
