Everson, Kathryn M. (Ziegler) (16 JAN 1924 - 8 APR 2013)

Kathryn M. Everson, 89, Medford, died on Monday, April 8 at her home in Seabrook, Texas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford with military rites performed by the Medford Military Honors Team, and Father Gerard Willger officiating. Interment will be at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford.

Pallbearers are her grandsons, Ryan and Travis Everson, and other family members.

Visitation will be held at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford on Friday, April 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. with a Catholic prayer/rosary service at 6 p.m., and at the church on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m.

The former Kathryn Ziegler was born on January 16, 1924 in Medford to the late Joseph and Katharina (Demleitner) Ziegler Sr. She attended Medford area elementary schools and was a graduate of Medford High School. She lived in California while serving in the United States Navy WAVES from 1944 to 1946.

On May 14, 1950 in Las Vegas, Nev., she married Carl Everson, who preceded her in death on August 3, 2000. She worked as a housewife and mother raising her four children.

She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Nassau Bay, Texas. She enjoyed gardening, garage sales, collecting dolls, her dogs, was an animal person, and also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann Everson of Seabrook; two sons, Mike (Kelly) of Houston, Texas, and Robert of Seabrook; a brother, Charles (Ruth) of Appleton; two grandchildren, Ryan (Lisa Obradovich) Everson and Travis (Christine) Everson; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda M. Everson in 1978; four sisters, Barbara McWilliams, Elizabeth Kuss, Anna Schaefer and Mary Ziegler; and two brothers, John and Joseph Jr.
