Greenwood (16 January 1969)

The annual meeting of Zion United Church was held Sunday at 9:30 a.m. Laverne Brown presided. Mrs. George Hoehne was appointed to act as secretary. New officers elected were Laverne Brown, president; Adolph Wessel, vice president; Larry Dallman, treasurer; Robert Schneider, secretary; Oscar Miller, assistant treasurer; Ewald Schwarze, improvement fund secretary; Adolph Wessel, memorial fund secretary. Outgoing officers are Bernard Novobielski and Edwin Karpinske. Various reports were given. The officers will be installed at a later date.

The Women’s Society of Christian Service will meet Friday afternoon in Grace United Methodist Church. Hostesses will be Mrs. Wilbur Stewart and Mrs. Jack Zimmer.

The Happy Hustlers Homemakers meeting will be held this (Thursday) evening at the home of Mrs. Adolph Abel. Mrs. Harlan Brux and Mrs. John Zepaltas will present the lesson on, “efficient kitchen storage.”

Mrs. Harold Horn was readmitted Tuesday evening to a hospital in Marshfield.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson spent the weekend in Milwaukee with their daughter, Miss Carol Severson, and at the home of Mrs. Leida Kurtzheim, with other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Buchholz, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Buchholz, Mr. and Mr s. Francis Suckow, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Murphy and Mr. and Mrs. John Ormond, Jr., of Neillsville were entertained Saturday evening at the Harlan Brux home. Cards furnished entertainment.

Supper guests Sunday at the Harlan Brux home were Mr. and Mrs. Mike Kowieski and Kathy Kowieski of Auburndale and Mrs. Al Johnson and children, Kenneth and Darla, of Colorado City, Colo.

The American Legion Auxiliary meeting will be held Monday evening at the Legion Hall. Hostesses will be Mrs. Leona Syth, Mrs. Robert Vesel, Mrs. Don Warner, Mrs. Adelbert Wells, Mrs. O. J. Amundson and Mrs. Jake Barr.
