Mr. and Mrs. Frederick H. Roberts, who are now residing in Frankfurt, Germany, were married Friday, Jan. 15, 1965, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Stanley. The Rev. Carl Peters performed the 8 p.m. double ring ceremony before candelabra decorated with white roses. The altar flowers were red carnations and white chrysanthemums.

Miss Carole J. Cance, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Alex Cance, route 1, Boyd, exchanged wedding vows with the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick C. Roberts, route 3, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

Miss Phyllis Christianson, a cousin of the bride, sang "O Perfect Love" and "The Lord's Prayer," with organ accompaniment by Mrs. Dan Nafzgar. The acolytes were Barbara Stane and Gail Stevens.

The bride chose a street length gown of white lace over white taffeta, with a scalloped neckline and a bolero jacket of lace. Her silk illusion three tiered veil was held by a wedding cake crown of pearls in aurora borealis. Given in marriage by her father, she carried a cascade bouquet of Fuji chrysanthemums and red roses.

Miss Carol Taig, Eau Claire, was the bride's only attendant. Her blue brocade gown, street length, featured a scoop neckline and shaped skirt. She wore a matching short veil and a crystal necklace which was a gift of the bride. Red roses and white carnations composed her cascade bouquet.

Richard Cance was the best man. Lyle Horgan, Chippewa Falls, cousin of the groom, and Kenneth Cance, brother of the bride, were the ushers.

The bride's mother attended wearing a blue wool jacket dress and the groom's mother chose an olive colored dress. Both wore similar corsages of carnations and yellow and white roses.

A reception for 200 guests was held in church parlors. Mrs. Ed Swatzina poured, Miss Carol Horgan served the punch, Misses Dianne Horgan and Darlene Christianson cut the wedding cake. Mrs. Tom Weirich had charge of the guest book and the gifts were opened by Mrs. Carol Heidemann, Mrs. James Korn and Miss Betty Korn.

The bride chose a white winter suit for traveling, as they left after the ceremony for Frankfort, Germany. The groom, Sp-4 Roberts, is stationed with the U.S. Army European Security Forces. He graduated from Thorp High School. The bride, a graduate of Stanley-Boyd High School, attended the Vocational School in Eau Claire, and worked as an IBM key-puncher at Employers Mutual of Wausau for two years.

Grandparents of the bride, present for her wedding, were Mr. and Mrs. John Cance and Mrs. Helen Christianson. Mr. Harry Rose, grandfather of teh groom, was also present. Other guests attended from Texas, Wausau, Eau Claire, Bloomer, Chippewa Falls, Pigeon Falls and the surrounding area.
