Vera Fredricka (Lapp) Weix (8 Mar 1905 - 11 Oct 1971)

Funeral services were held yesterday morning, Wednesday, 13 Oct 1971, at Dorchester (Clark Co., WI) for Mrs. Marzell Weix, 66, who died Monday at St. Joseph's hospital, Marshfield. Rites were conducted at St. Louis Catholic church by Rev. Gerald Schuh and burial took place in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery, Colby.

The body lay in state at Maurina funeral home, Dorchester, from Tuesday afternoon until time of services.

Mrs. Weix, the former Vera Lapp, was born March 8, 1905, in the town of Mayville, Clark County. She attended grade schools there and at Abbotsford and Medford high school. Prior to her marriage to Mr. Weix November 18, 1935, at Dorchester, Mrs. Weix was employed for seven years by the Dorchester Cooperative Store. She then assisted with the operation of her husband's business, Weix Drug Store, Dorchester.

Mrs. Weix was a member of St. Louis parish, the Catholic Order of Lady Foresters, Royal Neighbors and Ladies Rosary Altar society.

Mr. Weix is her sole survivor, Mrs. Weix having been preceded in death by five sisters; Edith (Mrs. John V. Sturner), Esther, Lydia (Mrs. Emil G. Sturner), Valma, Verna (Mrs. Fred Rasman) and one brother, Wallace (Clara Skerbeck).
