David was born May 13, 1925, in Spencer, a son of Edward and Adelia (Hoops) Huber. He received his elementary education at the Willow Brook School, and graduated from the Spencer High School in 1942. Following graduation he worked with his father in the cheese business.

He served in the U.S. Navy Construction Battalion (Seabees) during World War II from 1943 to 1946. Following his military service, he was employed by the Soo Line Railroad, working in various places.

On May 27, 1950, he was united in marriage to the former Ellen Trierweiler. The couple lived in various places while David was employed by the railroad, returning to Marshfield in 1952. Upon their return to Marshfield, Mr. Huber was employed at Thomas’ Market. He later accepted a position with Citizen National Bank, retiring in 1986 with 28 years of service.

David was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council and the Board of Elders. He was an avid bowler and served as treasurer of the Marshfield Bowling Association for many years, as well as being a member of the 700 Club.

He loved golfing, hunting and camping, but most of all family get-togethers. He also enjoyed and treasured the many friendships and hours of conversations with his neighbors.

David was a member of American Legion Post No. 54, Elks Lodge No. 665, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and United Commercial Travelers.
