Johnson, Fred C. (June 27, 1928 - January 20, 2009)

Fred Johnson, 80, Mosinee, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at his home.

Services were held Feb. 21 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Halder.

The Rev. Barnabas Kyea presided. Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery, Halder.

Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, was in charge of arrangements.

Johnson, Fred C. (June 27, 1928 - January 20, 2009)

Fred C. Johnson, 80, 3711 W. Highway 153, Mosinee, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at his home.

He was born June 27, 1928, in Stanley, the son of the late Carl and Vera (Carmien) Johnson.

He married Mavis Foster on July 7, 1953, in Stanley. She survives. Fred served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He worked in many levels of the cheese making business up until his retirement in 2002.

He was an active member of St. Patrick's Parish in Halder, serving in many positions on the parish board and cemetery board. He always made time to help people in any way possible. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with family.

Survivors, besides his wife, Mavis, include two sons, Gary (Darlene) Johnson, Stratford, and Terry (Christine) Johnson, Valdosta, Ga.; two daughters, Diane (Joseph) Paul, Edgar, and Carol (Neil) Daul, Mosinee; ten grandchildren, Michelle, Amy and Dustin Johnson, Andrew, Daniel (Kristie) and Nicholas Paul, Jason and Jodi Daul, and Alaina and Alex Johnson; and a sister, Jane (Cleve) Shilts, Stanley.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Johnson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 21, 2009, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Halder. The Rev. Barnabas Kyea will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Halder. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. today until time of services at the church. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is in charge of arrangements.
