Arnold Albert Leffel, 78, died Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital in Portland of heart disease.
A Vancouver resident for the past 17 years, Mr. Leffel lived in Wisconsin most of his life. He was born Feb. 2, 1921, in Wien, Wis.
He was a paint mixer for General Motors for 29 years before retiring.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dorothy, at home; two sons, Kenneth and William, both of Vancouver; two brothers, Arthur and Elmer, both of Stratford, Wis.; two sisters, Alma Bauman of Marshfield, Wis., and Ruth Shuchart of Janesville, Wis.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A veteran of the Army Air Corps during World War II, Mr. Leffel enjoyed fishing and hunting.
A funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel, followed by burial in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The casket will be open from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral chapel.
