Robert H. Tesmer, 89, of Spencer died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at the House of the Dove Hospice Home, Marshfield. Arrangements are pending at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield.

Robert H. Tesmer, 89, of Spencer, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, at the House of the Dove Hospice Home, Marshfield under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice services.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at Rembs Funeral Home with the Rev. James J. Logan. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with his grandsons Mark, Kurt, Marshall, Eric and Larry Thomas Tesmer, Brady Johnson and Tyler Sparby serving as the pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the American Legion Post No. 54 of Marshfield.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of the services at Rembs Funeral Home.

Bob was born March 23, 1919, in Colby to Herman and Helen (Nagel) Tesmer. He attended Colby Elementary School and graduated from Neillsville High School.

Bob and Goldie C. Schmitz were united in marriage Oct. 3, 1940, in Chili.

On June 24, 1944, he was inducted into the U.S. Army at Fort Sheridan, Ill., and served as a MP, being honorable discharged Oct. 2, 1945.

He had a career in mechanical engineering with Ferris Osbourne Engineering, Roddis Wood Products and was partners with Jack Pezl in Pezl Engineering. In 1971, they moved to Phillips to be plant engineer with Evans Bay Products/Boise Cascade. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Bob is survived by his wife Goldie, children, Wayne (Louise) Tesmer of Wisconsin Rapids; Larry (Karen) Tesmer of Fifield; Don (Jean) Tesmer of Hatley; Katherine (Thomas) Henseler of Marshfield and Karen Tesmer of Granton; daughter-in-law Marilynn Tesmer of Marshfield; 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He is further survived by two brothers Eldred (Shirley) Tesmer of Loyal and Milford (Pat) Tesmer of Neillsville; sister-in-law Winnie Tesmer of Zephyr Hills, Fla.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Tesmer, granddaughter Jennifer Johnson and a brother, Raymond Tesmer.
