McMeeken, Thomas L. (14 May 1978 – 23 Dec. 2008)

Thomas L. McMeeken, 30, Mosinee, and formerly of Stratford, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday at Mountain of the Lord Lutheran Church, Rib Mountain.

The visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford, and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Thomas L. McMeeken, 30, of Mosinee, and formerly of Stratford, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at Mountain of the Lord Lutheran Church, Rib Mountain. The Rev. Dan Solofra will officiate, and Taunya Solofra will be the organist for congregational singing. Burial will be in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County.

Visitations will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford, and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at Mountain of the Lord Lutheran Church. A rosary service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Tom was born May 14, 1978, in Marshfield to Michael and Diana (Sternweis) McMeeken. He attended St. Joseph's Parochial School, Stratford, and was a 1996 graduate of Stratford High School. He also was a 1998 graduate of Northcentral Technical College, Wausau, and at the present time, he was enrolled at Upper Iowa University, where he was pursuing a bachelor's degree. He and Holly Becker were united in marriage May 24, 2003, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Weston. He was currently employed in marketing at Greenheck Fan Corporation in Schofield.

His hobbies included remote control car racing, fishing and boating. He enjoyed life and loved his family.

Tom is survived by his wife, Holly, and their children, a son and a daughter, Darren and Cassidy. He also is survived by his parents, Mike and Diana McMeeken of Stratford, two brothers, Timothy (Valerie) McMeeken of Stratford, Ryan (Bonnie) McMeeken of West Bend, and a sister, Kellie McMeeken of Stratford. He is further survived by his maternal grandparents, Ruby and Alvin Heckel of Marshfield, his mother-in-law, Virginia Becker of Chanhasen, Minn., and a brother-in-law, Andrew (fiancee Juleen Newburgh) Becker of Crystal, Minn., and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Thomas Sternweis, his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Jeanne McMeeken, and his father-in-law, Darrell Becker.

In lieu of flowers, the family will designate a memorial at a later date.
