Wienandt, Ferdinand (16 Oct. 1857 – 19 Nov. 1937)
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Ferdinand Wienandt, aged 80 years, who died Friday at a Wausau hospital. The Rev. George Groh officiated at the rites, which were held at one o’clock at the home of Mr. Wienandt’s daughter, Mrs. Albert Venzke. Internment was made in the Athens cemetery.
Pallbearers were Martin Ellingson, Paul Benzmann, Emil Schade, Charles Schmidt, Henry Hannemann and George Blank.
The deceased was born in Pommern, Germany, Oct. 16, 1857. He came to America in 1882 and settled in the town of Johnson about 44 years ago. Here he lived until three years ago when he went to live with a daughter, Mrs. Albert Venzke. He was married to Miss Anna Orth, at Milwaukee in 1885.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Albert Venzke, Milan; Mrs. Wenzel Zahorka, Athens; Mrs. Henry Dillon, Mosinee; Mrs. Edward Polasek, Wausau; two sons, Arthur Wienandt, Mellon; Walter Wienandt, Antigo; and 17 grandchildren. His wife and three children preceded him in death.
