Alois Seubert, 103, Marathon, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. The funeral mass was celebrated Wednesday, May 6, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.

Rev. Joseph Diermeier presided. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, assisted the family with arrangements.

Alois "Younga" Seubert, 103, Marathon, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born Oct. 31, 1905, to the late John and Frances (Beyer) Seubert in the town of Cassel.

On June 8, 1931, he married Esther Dehlinger at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon. She preceded him in death June 11, 1994.

In his younger years, he worked as a logger in Upper Michigan. Later, after various jobs, he worked as an automobile mechanic for the former Nuxoll Chevrolet. His passing ends a long-time benefactor of St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon, and St. Anthony Retreat Center.

Alois loved fishing and the outdoors.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Seubert and Sr. Charlotte Seubert, FSPA; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six sisters and two brothers.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 700 Market St., Marathon. The Rev. Joseph Diermeier will preside.

Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. today, May 5, 2009, at the church, where there will be a rosary service at 4 p.m. Visitation will resume at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the Mass at the church.

Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon.
