Lemmer, Florence H. (19 July 1907 - 9 June 2007)

Florence H. Lemmer, 99, formerly of Rothschild, died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Wellington Place in Rib Mountain.

Florence was born July 19, 1907, in Cassel, to the late Albert and Sabrina (Uebelacker) Goldbach. She married Raymond Alfred Lemmer on June 6, 1938, in Edgar. He died June 5, 1992. She was a beautician as a young woman and continued to help relatives and friends look their best over the years.

In her early years, Florence enjoyed sewing, gardening and playing cards, enjoying many exciting games of sheepshead with her family and friends. Their laughter and competition brought them together time and again. She volunteered at church dinners and other functions and, whenever possible, attended daily Mass. Her cookie jar always held delicious cookies, and the grandchildren knew where to find them.

Survivors include two daughters, Judy (James) O'Connor, Racine. and Karen (Allan) Tauferner, Rothschild; two sons, Richard (Mary) Lemmer, Ringle, and Don Lemmer, Florida; ten grandchildren, Christopher (Debra) O'Connor, Mary (Robert) Coleman, Ann M. O'Connor, Jon O'Connor, Mark (Terri) Tauferner, Andrew (Tammy) Tauferner, Karla (Peter) Swita, Kathryn (Todd Roll) Lemmer, Elisabeth (Brad) Gast and Molly Lemmer; and 17 great-grandchildren, Shawn, Ryan, Cale and Ciara O'Connor, Matthew, Andrew and Hannah Coleman, Leah and Samantha Tauferner, Will, Dina and Rachel Tauferner, Noah and Jackson Swita, Maximus Roll, Megan and Madelyn Gast. She is further survived by one sister, Marion Liedtke, Glendale, Calif.; two brothers, Weinand Goldbach, Wausau, and Earl Goldbach, Olympia, Wash.; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Lemmer, Los Angeles; and sisters-in-law, Maxine Lemmer, Weston, and Doris Goldbach, Michigan.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents; one son, Charles Lemmer who died in Los Angeles April 2, 2005; three sisters, Marge Goldbach, Rose McLearen and Marcy Martin; three brothers, Philip, Ervin and Edward Goldbach; and a great-grandson, Lucas Gast.

The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rothschild, with the Rev. Allan Slowiak officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Marathon. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass, all at the church. Please send memorials to St. Mark Catholic Church, 602 Military Road, Rothschild WI 54474. To the entire staff of Wellington Place: Our heartfelt thanks for the loving care and support.

A special "Thank You" from the family to Karen for her many years of love and care. Hayden-Buettgen Funeral Home, Schofield, assisted the family with arrangements.
