Kohl, Joyce (Marriage - 12 Aug. 1944)

Miss Joyce Kohl, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kohl, Milan, became the bride of Rollan Freimund, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Freimund, also of Milan, in a marriage ceremony performed in St. John’s Lutheran church at Dorchester, Aug. 12, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Mr. Hoffman officiated.

Attendants were Miss Delores Meyer, Marshfield, Miss Edna Loeffler, George Hein and Leslie Kohl, Milan. Elsie Weis, a niece of the groom, served as flower girl.

The bride’s full length bridal veil of illusion inserted with lace was caught to a rhinestone head dress and covered the bridal gown of white satin and ninon. Her flowers were an arrangement of white gladioli and sweet peas, and for jewelry she wore a pearl necklace, a gift of the groom.

Both of the bride’s attendants wore identical frocks in blue and pink satin and ninon and carried bouquets of mixed summer flowers. Gold lockets, gifts of the bride, completed their attire. Elsie was presented with a gold cross necklace.

At 4:00 o’clock, supper was served to 75 guests at the home of the bride’s parents, decorated with pink and blue streamers. A three tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature good luck charm centered the bride’s table. That evening a wedding dance was held at Trianon Gardens, and at midnight a lunch was served at the Kohl home.

Mr. and Mrs. Freimund are now at home to friends on the groom’s farm near Milan. The bride is employed at the Laabs Cheese company, Milan.

Guests attending the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. John Knoll, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Anderson and William Shepherd, Medford; Mrs. Roy Rose and daughter, Virginia, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Darold Freimund, Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Bruesewitz, of Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Weis and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Meyer and family, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Loeffler and family, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Parge and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hein and family, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Krueger, Athens; Mrs. Veronica Miller, Rothschild; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bedrosky, Dorchester; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Konkel, Milan; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Knoll and family, Laona; and Mrs. Estrumse, Colby.
