O'Connell, Alice (1 June 1923 - 29 Mar. 2008)

MOSINEE -- Alice O'Connell, 84, Orland Park, Ill., formerly of Mosinee, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, under the care of Palos Community Hospice at her daughter's home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. April 11, 2008, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. Burial will be in Mosinee Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Friday, April 11, at the church. Alice and her late husband, Philip, were owner/operators of Camp DuBay Shores.

Survivors include three children, Sharon (Richard) Landgraf, Orland Park, Ill., Thomas (Teresa) O'Connell, Mosinee, and Daniel O'Connell, Marshfield; and three grandchildren. Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, assisted the family with arrangements.

Alice O'Connell, 84, Orland Park, Ill., formerly of Mosinee, passed away with family members at her side Saturday, March 29, 2008, at her daughter's home under the care of Palos Community Hospice.

She was born June 1, 1923, in Chicago, the daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (Fornaciari) Thompson. She married Philip O'Connell and had three children. Together they moved to Mosinee as owner/operators of Camp DuBay Shores in 1975. Phil died June 8, 1983. After selling the business a few years later, Alice returned to Crestwood and traveled with her children and grandchildren. For the past nine years she alternately lived with each of her children, Sharon (Richard) Landgraf of Orland Park, Ill., Thomas (Teresa) O'Connell of Mosinee, and Daniel O'Connell of Marshfield. Alice enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She adored her grandchildren, Kaitlin (Andrew) Bohacek, Madison, Jacquelyn Landgraf, New York, N.Y., and Brian O'Connell, Phoenix. Besides her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by her sister, Kay Reed; and a daughter-in-law, Teresa (Rebman) O'Connell.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2008, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. The Rev. Joseph Grassl will officiate. Burial will be in Mosinee Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until time of services at the church.

Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, assisted the family with arrangements.

The family requests memorials in Alice's name be made to a hospice program of choice.
