Totzke, Agnes O. (7 Feb. 1920 - 18 July 2008)

Agnes O. Totzke, 88, town of Frankfort, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at her home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

She was born February 7, 1920, in the town of Frankfort, daughter of the late Anton and Regina (Yessa) Hartl. On June 13, 1942, she married Albert Totzke at St. John Lutheran Church, town of Wien. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary on June 13, 2008. He survives.

Before her marriage to Albert, Agnes taught in a one room school for three years. Together, they farmed and raised their family on the Totzke family homestead in the town of Frankfort. The Totzke family has owned the homestead since 1904. Agnes was a member of the St. John ELCA Ladies Aid and the Happy Homemakers Club. Among her many interests, she enjoyed gardening and baking, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Albert Totzke, town of Frankfort; six children, Carl (Jean) Totzke, Edgar, John Totzke, Edgar, Aaron Totzke, Fenwood, Jane (Jeff) Carlson, Eagan, Minn., Kaye (Duane) Natzke, Athens, and Kris Totzke, Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren, Cathy Wenzel, Mauston, Jeff (Cydnee) Totzke, Eagle River, Jeremy(Jeanie Dunow) Totzke, Abbotsford , C. Anthony Totzke II, Edgar, Victoria (Bret Finke) Emens, Stratford, Eric (Lisa) Totzke, Abbotsford, Angela Totzke, Fenwood, Tiffany Totzke, Fenwood, Jessica Carlson, Washington, D.C., Andrew (Lori) Natzke, Schofield, and Benjamin Natzke, Stevens Point; five great grandchildren, Matthew, Brienna, and Cameron Wenzel, Mauston, Grayson Totzke, Abbotsford; one step great-grandchild, Nia Peissig, Abbotsford; two sisters, Laura (Ed) Mielke, Abbotsford, and Leta (Leonard) Ebben, Abbotsford; two sister-in-laws, Elsie (Gordon) Raddatz and Wolga Tigert, all of Oshkosh; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Totzke and Helen Brunner; and one brother, Leopold Hartl.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, at St. John Lutheran Church, W1000 County Road N., Edgar. Rev. Jeff Tarras presided. Burial was in the parish cemetery.

Pallbearers were her six grandsons, Jeff, Jeremy, and Anthony Totzke Eric Totzke, Andy and Ben Natzke. Honorary pallbearers were her five granddaughters, Cathy Wenzel, Jessica Carlson, Vicki Emens, Angela and Tiffany Totzke.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran ELCA Cemetery Fund or Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, was in charge of arrangements.
