Egner, Anna M. (12 July 1918 - 10 June 2008)

Anna M. “Ann” Egner, 89, Stratford, a loving mother and grandmother, was called home by the Lord on Tuesday, June 10, 2008, at Ministry Hospice Home, House of the Dove, Marshfield, where she had resided since March 6.

Ann was born on July 12, 1918, in the Town of Cassel, the daughter of Anton and Anastasia (Feltzkowski) Brzezinski. She and Wallace E. “Wally” Egner were united in marriage on June 1, 1946, in Wausau. He died on October 18, 1993.

After their marriage they lived in Wausau until 1952 when they moved to rural Stratford to farm and raise their seven children. In 1987 they moved to Stratford to reside. In her free time she enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, bowling, and gardening. She will be remembered most for the many hours spent at her sewing machine, adorning her children and grandchildren with her labor of love. Her biggest joy in life was the pride she had in her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. She will be missed and loved forever.

She is lovingly survived by two daughters, Judy Landwehr, Stratford, and Edie Schnelle, Belmont, N.H.; five sons, George (Sue) Egner, Oshkosh, Gerald (Donna) Egner, Auburndale, Michael (Diane) Egner, Burlington, Dennis Egner, Stratford, and Bob (Kathy) Egner, Mesa, Ariz.; twenty-one grandchildren; two step grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters, Della (Edwin) Nowak, Hewitt, Rose Knetter, Edgar; and a brother, Steve (Loretta) Brzezinski, Tomahawk.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; six brothers; and three sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford. Rev. Thomas Rudolph will preside and music will be provided by John Kaiser and Paul Drexler. Burial will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Town of Eau Pleine and serving as pallbearers will be Jaclyn Egner, Jeremy Egner, Todd Egner, Brian Egner, Curtis Egner, Matt Egner and Brad Landwehr. The visitation will be held on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at St. Joseph’s Church.

Memorials may be given in her name as the family will establish a memorial at a later date. The family would like to extend a special “thank you” to the staff and volunteers at the House of the Dove for the extra special and loving care that was given to our mother and grandmother.
