Luepke, Leonard Theodore (22 June 1918 - 5 Oct. 1993)

SPENCER - Services for Leonard Theodore Luepke, 75, who died at 9:37 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. The Rev. William Rubusch will officiate. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, town of Brighton, Marathon County.

Pallbearers will be Lyle and Kenny Weber, Bryan Helsten, Bruce and Glen Luepke and Jimmy Guden. Honorary pallbearers will be Elmer Bruss, Stub Griepentrog, Ernst Krause and Merlin Kobs. Visitation will be at Community Funeral Home, Spencer, after 4 p.m. today.

He was born June 22, 1918, in Spencer, to the late William and Alvina (Foth) Luepke. He attended Spencer schools. He married Esther Weber Aug. 16, 1947, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, town of McMillan, Marathon County.

He farmed in the town of Brighton until 1972 and then moved to Spencer. He also worked for St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield for five years before retiring.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and AAL and held various offices at the church.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Gary of La Crosse; two daughters, Marlene Luepke of Marshfield and Mrs. Douglas (Debora) Kochanowski of Bothell, Wash.; one sister, Norma Cross of Marshfield; two brothers, Vilas of Spencer and Elroy of Hayward; and two grandchildren.
