James, Mary Alice (26 May 1943 - 31 Dec. 2007)

Mary Alice James, 64, Wausau, was born to eternal life Monday, Dec. 31, 2007, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at Wausau Hospital.

She was born May 26, 1943, in Milwaukee, daughter of Mary Louise (McCanna) Zinda and the late Ray Zinda. She grew up in the Hartland area on Moose Lake.

On Oct. 17, 1964, she married Thomas Michael James at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Okauchee. He survives. Throughout their 43 years of marriage they resided in the Hartland area, Florida and Wausau.

Among her many interests, she loved to golf, play piano, sew, read and go to the casino with her husband, Tom. She also enjoyed traveling with friends and spending time with her family. Tom and Mary Alice shared many memorable vacations and golf outings with friends.

Mary Alice gracefully fought severe COPD with a constant smile and never complained.

Survivors include her husband, Tom James, Wausau; her mother, Mary Louise Zinda, Hartland; one daughter, Colleen (Jerry) Draves, Wausau; one son, Gregg (Ronda Zogata) James, Weston; and four grandchildren, Ashley and Lance Bricko, Nick Draves and Aliya James.

The memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Weston. The Rev. Joseph Rafacz will preside. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church. Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth St., Wausau, is in charge of arrangements.

The family would like to extend warmest thanks and appreciation to Dr. Hanneman, Dr. Wcisel, Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services and the staff at Aspirus Wausau Hospital that cared for Mary Alice during her many hospitalizations.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association.
