Larson, Lorena (Larson) (October 13, 1929 - December 21, 2008)

Lorena Larson, 96, Osseo, died Sunday, Dec. 21 at Pigeon Falls Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls. Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 26 at South Beef River Lutheran Church in rural Osseo. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Lorena Larson was born June 30, 1912 in the Town of Hallie, Chippewa County, to the late John and Lena (Solberg) Larson. She attended Hutchinson School in the Town of Hallie.

On October 13, 1929 in Pigeon Falls, she married Joseph M. Larson, who preceded her in death on September 25, 1991. She lived her entire married life in Osseo.

She was a member of South Beef River Lutheran Church, Osseo Historical Society and Osseo Medical Center Auxiliary.

In 2005 she opened her home to the Osseo Medical Center's home tour.

She enjoyed antiques, traveling to Norway and other countries in Europe, painting figurines, braiding rugs, cooking, baking, family gatherings and coffee with friends.

Survivors include her sons, Ronald (Connie) of Mikana and Robert (Barbara) of Medford; seven granddaughters, Laura (John) Ruesch, Debra (Greg) Hutchinson, Tamara (Gary) Fuchs, Sandra (Bob) Thieme, Cindy Larson, Mary Vande Voort and Michelle (Dan) Ellefson; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Lillian Castad, Olive Bantle, Jennie Cramblit, Emma Hanson and Abigal Thompson; and two brothers, Bryan and Lawrence.

Schiefelbein Funeral Home of Osseo assisted the family with arrangements.
