Walker, Bervil “Bud” Elmer (19 January 1915 - 6 June 1988)

Bervil (Bud) Walker, 73, Fairchild, passed away Monday morning June 6, 1988, at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

Bervil Elmer Walker was born January 19, 1915, at Fairchild. As a child he attended the Lone Pine and the Fairchild schools. He was united in marriage to Margarette Kirby on July 30, 1938, at the Methodist Church in Humbird. Bud had been in the pulpwood business, worked at the Hixton Turkey Ranch and the Biron Paper Mill in Wis. Rapids. He had owned and operated a service station, a milk route, and trucking business in Humbird before moving to St. Paul, where he worked at the Natro Gas Company of Minneapolis for 30 years. The couple returned to Fairchild in 1962.

He is survived by his wife, Margarette of Fairchild; three sons, Jerald of Coupeville, WA, Archie, North Lauderdale, FL, and Bruce, of Osseo; two brothers, Manley Walker of Prairie Farm, and Jack Walker of Eustace, TX; four sisters, Zora Sentek, of Malone, Charlotte Durham and Reta Koranda, both of Neillsville, and Nita Diercks of Vesper, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Betty Lou Sagstetter in January 1967; one infant son in 1946; by one granddaughter, Renee Walker, in 1973; and by four brothers, Orville, Melvin, Clifford and Ralph Walker.

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 9, 1988, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta with Rev. Donald King officiating. Burial was made in the Town of Mentor Cemetery, Humbird.
