The “Come and See” Shop on Division Street in Withee is putting a new look as they finish the construction a a new brown and white steel building to the right of their present shop.

Construction of the new building began on Monday, March 14, 1977, and by the end of that week the new building had taken shape. Last week, March 28 to the 31, the cement floor was poured, with James Hatlestad doing the work.

The new building is a Bauman Shed from Chippewa, and was set up by Loren Sayles of Dorchester.

The new building is listed as a warehouse and will be storage and display area for the second-hand furniture line of the Come and See Shop. The new building will be connected with the present shop by a ramp-way going out from the south side of the new warehouse. During the last few years most of the second-hand furniture was stored in the house further the south, which once was the home of the Vernon Barager family, and where James Barager was born. The Owen Enterprise building in Owen once stood in front of this house. This old building has now been sold to Mr. and Mrs. Shug of Stratford, who are going to remodel the house into two apartments for re-sale.

The Come and See Shop is owned and operated by Blaine and Pauline McCray. They have been in business there for about seven years, dealing in second-hand furniture, primitives, collectibles, primitives, and antiques. Watch for their new building soon, and their Grand Opening in the Owen Enterprise.
