Eastan Swita, Neillsville High School senior, was named the January Junior Kiwanian by the Neillsville Kiwanis Club at their Jan. 10 meeting.

He was introduced to members by club secretary Herman Seebandt and participated in the meeting’s program. Swita is the son of Scott and Kim Swita.

Numerous academic, athletic, trade skill and volunteer activities highlight Swita’s high school years.

He has maintained a 3.9 grade-point average, played football four years and served as captain his senior year, was a member of the golf team and participated in the Bruce Mound downhill ski club.

Swita’s interest in the building trades has led him to involvement with the SkillsUSA program, and employment in home building for Erickson Construction and as a plumber’s assistant for Schoen Plumbing and Heating.

In the community, he assists with serving Mass at St. Mary’s Church, cuts firewood, shovels snow for neighbors and coaches flag football for the Neillsville Recreation Department.

Following graduation, Swita plans to enroll at UW-Stout and major in packaging engineering.

“The Junior Kiwanian program highlights the diverse ambitions and achievements of our outstanding Neillsville seniors like Eastan Swita. The club wishes him success as he pursues his continuing education and career exploration,” Kiwanian Brent Shoup wrote in a press release.
