Talledge, G. Brent (22 June 1954 - 30 Oct. 2007)

G. Brent Talledge, beloved husband and father, 53, of Chippewa Falls, died at his home due to a brain tumor on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2007, under the care of his family and friends.

He was born June 22, 1954, in Fond du Lac. His parents were Rev. Benjamin J. and Phyllis (Dolen) Talledge. He was raised in southwestern Wisconsin and graduated from Westby High School in 1972, and graduated from Mount Scenario College in Ladysmith with a Bachelors Degree in Art Education in 1976. He attended graduate school at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where he earned a Masters Degree in Art in 1979.

Brent resided in Madison until moving to Ladysmith in 1982, when he became advertising manager for the Ladysmith News.

Brent married Jinny Davis on Aug. 30, 1986, at Zion Lutheran Church in Blair. He was then employed at B-Framed Gallery in Eau Claire in 1987, and in 1990, opened Chippewa Frame and Art Gallery in Chippewa Falls, which he owned and operated until June, 2007, when he closed due to ill health.

Brent will be remembered with great love by his family and friends. He treated everyone he met with respect. He loved music, art, working in his yard, camping, and skiing. He was a great picture framer. He did what he loved and was good at what he did. He will be missed.

He was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls; the Chippewa Falls Main Street Association; the Chippewa Valley Arts Association, and the Chippewa Valley Cultural Association.

Survivors include his wife, Jinny Davis Talledge, and son, Nathaniel Talledge, both of Chippewa Falls; one sister, Rhonda (Jim) Mataczynski of Lake Holcombe; one brother, Michael Talledge of Madison; two nieces, Melissa Bell of Bloomington, Minn., Kellie Talledge of Augusta; one nephew, Jacob Talledge of Eau Claire; a great-nephew, Hunter Helland of Augusta; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joyce and James Davis of Altoona; a sister-in-law, Jan Davis of Monticello, Minn.; cousins; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls with the Rev. D. J. Rasner of English Lutheran Church of Bateman officiating and Brent’s friend, the Rev. Ned Lenhart participating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls and Dell Cemetery in Westby.

Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel in Chippewa Falls and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.

Memorials in Brent’s memory may be directed to Chippewa Falls Main Street programs or the Heyde Center for the Arts.
