Williams, Mabel E. (31 October 1898 – 23 April 1988)
Mabel E. Williams, 89, of Neillsville Memorial Home, died Saturday morning in
Memorial Hospital.
Services were Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Granton. Rev. Howard Ott
officiated. Burial was in Windfall Cemetery, Granton. Charlotte Gresher was
organist for soloist Margaret Paulsen. Pallbearers were Lawrence Kirk, Robert
Spry, Russell Kuhn, William Beeckler, James Gilbertson, and Roger Nitschke.
Memorials may be given to the United Methodist Church of Granton.
Mabel was born Oct. 31, 1898, in the Town of Grant, to Henry and Myrtle
Williams, she attended the Town of Grant elementary schools and graduated from
Neillsville High School in 1918. She also attended the Stevens Point Normal
School. Employed as a teacher in Seattle, WA; Alton, IL; and Pecatonica, IL, she
retired from teaching in 1962, and moved to Granton in 1963, entering the
Neillsville Memorial Home in 1982. She was a member of the United Methodist
Church of Granton.
One nephew, Robert Williams of Eureka, CA., survives. She was preceded in death
by her parents and two brothers.
