HENRY CRONK, Chippewa Falls, came to Wisconsin in 1869. He was born in Ithaca, N. Y., Oct. 17, 1833. August, 1862, he enlisted in Co. H. 137th N.Y. V. IĄ served about one year, when he was discharged on account of disability caused by sickness. After leaving the army, he traveled for some time, for the benefit of his health. Prior to coming to Chippewa Falls, he was employed for about five years as conductor on railroad from Meadville to Oil City, Pa. Since coming here he has been engaged in mercantile pursuits. He was married in the town of Caroline, Tompkins Co., N.Y., Sept. 6, 1858, to Lucy A. Martin, a native of Dryden Tompkins Co., N.Y. She died Jan. 10, 1876, leaving one child, Charles W., born Feb. 11,, 1863. He has been a member of the Methodist Church since he was fourteen years of age.
