CALLED BACK FROM
PLEASURE TRIP BY DEATH.

On account of the sad death of Edward Felton who passed away as the result of burns received by falling into a bonfire, Robert Pond was called back from a bicycle trip to Duluth. Robert Pond is a cousin of the late Edward Felton. Robert Pond had reached as far as Rice lake, together with William Phillips. Young Pilips [sic] went on to Hayward with his father, leaving their wheels in Spooner. The boys made as far as Rice Lake the first evening at 6 O'clock, a distance of 63 miles. The next morning they went on to Spooner, a distance of 35 miles, where Robert Pond was called back to Eau Claire. On Saturday Robert will again join the touring party and will continue the trip for about 75 miles further.
